Scan a company
Type a company name and a short description of what it does. Gemini will research the real company (if it recognizes one) or construct a realistic illustrative profile, suggest LBO/DCF assumptions, build both models automatically, and hand off to an AI analyst review. Needs a Gemini key set up in first. For a precise, filing-grounded version instead of an estimate, use .
Welcome
This is a free, self-contained finance tool for learning to build LBO and DCF models. It runs entirely in your browser — there is no server and no backend. To use the AI scanner or filing extraction you connect your own Google Gemini API key, which is stored only in this browser's local storage and sent directly from your browser to Google's API. It never touches any third-party server, including ours (there isn't one). You can also skip the AI entirely and enter every assumption by hand, or click “Sample” above to explore the models immediately with a fictitious company.
Go to Google AI Studio, sign in with a Google account, and click “Create API key.” Google's free tier is generous enough for casual use of this tool. This is why you bring your own key instead of the app providing one: your key means your data — nothing you paste or generate here is shared with us or anyone else, because there is no server in between to share it. It also means usage is billed to your own Google account, so you're always in control of what, if anything, you spend, even if you end up using this a lot. Keep the key private — anyone with it can make calls billed to your account.
- Scan Company — type a company name and what it does; Gemini estimates a full financial profile and appropriate deal assumptions, builds the LBO and DCF automatically, and writes a PE-analyst-style review.
- Extract Filing — paste text from a 10-K/10-Q or upload a PDF for a more precise, filing-grounded version of the same extraction, as an editable form you verify before it touches a model.
- LBO — sources & uses, up to two debt tranches with amortization and a cash sweep, a full operating and debt paydown schedule, exit returns (MOIC/IRR), and an entry × exit multiple sensitivity grid.
- DCF — unlevered free cash flow build, CAPM-based WACC, Gordon growth or exit-multiple terminal value, implied enterprise/equity value and per-share price, with a WACC × terminal-value sensitivity grid.
- Everything recalculates live as you edit assumptions. Use Save/Open to keep a scenario as a JSON file, and Print for a clean, presentation-ready page.
Privacy & cost
Filing text and your Gemini key are sent directly from your browser to
generativelanguage.googleapis.com over HTTPS — nothing passes through any
intermediary server, so none of your data is shared with us or any other third party; the only party
that ever sees it is Google, as the AI provider you chose to connect. Gemini API usage is billed by
Google to the account that owns the key, not to us and not to anyone else — a free tier is available at
the time of writing, and if you go beyond it, you're simply spending your own money on your own account,
at your own discretion. This tool itself is free and open, forever, since there's no backend to fund.
Don't paste filings containing information you aren't permitted to share with a third-party AI provider.
Filing input
Paste text copied from a 10-K, 10-Q, earnings release, or upload a PDF (text is extracted locally in your browser before anything is sent to Gemini). More precise than Scan Company since it's grounded in real filing text.
Analyst review
A PE-analyst-style writeup of the current LBO and DCF models — thesis, key drivers, risks, and a cross-check between the LBO-implied entry price and the DCF-implied intrinsic value. Regenerate any time after editing assumptions.
